Terms of Use
By creating an account or using GetCheers you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use GetCheers
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. One account per person, with your real first name and age.
2. Meeting people
GetCheers helps you find people who are out tonight. It is not a dating service and we don't run background checks. You decide whether to meet anyone, and you are responsible for your own safety and behaviour. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you are, and use Safe Night.
3. Safe Night is a help, not an emergency service
"Get home safe", trusted contacts, SOS and alerts to venue staff are there to help, but they depend on your phone, battery, signal and permissions, and on other people responding. They do not replace emergency services. If you are in danger, call the emergency number for the country you are in.
4. Be decent
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, stalk or discriminate against anyone, or share someone's private information;
- post sexual content, hate, violence or anything illegal;
- pretend to be someone else, create fake accounts or post fake reviews;
- use GetCheers for advertising, spam or selling, unless you are a venue using venue features;
- misuse SOS or safety features, or try to break, scrape or overload the service.
We may remove content, limit features or close accounts that break these rules, and we cooperate with authorities when the law requires it.
5. Your content
You own what you post. You give us a licence to store and show it inside GetCheers so the service can work. Chats, pins and Sparks disappear at 6 AM; profiles and reviews stay until you delete them.
6. Venues
Venues must give accurate information, may only post events, offers and signals they actually run, and must not create, buy or influence reviews. The check-in QR code is for guests who are physically at the venue. SOS alerts from guests should be treated seriously; venues remain responsible for their own premises and staff.
7. GetCheers+ and Founders
Paid features are sold through the App Store or Google Play and are covered by their payment and refund terms. Subscriptions renew until you cancel in your store settings. Founder status is free for the first 300 beta testers and includes GetCheers+ for as long as GetCheers operates; it can't be transferred or sold.
8. The service
We work hard to keep GetCheers running, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for what other users do. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
